Marketing Weird
by Richard Moore on April 23, 2009A while back I received a book called Weird Florida by Charlie Carlson. The book showcases all the weird tourist attractions and weird natural phenomena in Florida, which was interesting to me because I grew up in Florida and took a lot of these attractions and natural features for granted. Near Orlando where I grew up there was Gatorland, whose entrance was a wide gaping alligator mouth made out of concrete, jutting out toward U.S. 441. From 1960 through 1980, before the Florida Alligator made a comeback, Gatorland was the place to see live, big alligators. At one time, you could even buy……
Travel and New Media
by Fernando Senra on April 20, 2009As I look toward next year’s vacation (yes- I’m a big planner), I’m starting to take advantage of all the new technology ready to assist me on how best to spend my hard-earned money on rest and relaxation. I’m determined to visit Europe in 2010 – a sort of personal goal. I’ve been researching travel options such as cruises, strictly-guided tours, loosely-guided tours, carefully planned self travel, and fly by the seat of your pants travel. The options are overwhelming and there are truly ups and downs to each. I’ve started to incorporate the help of travel blogs, travelogues, and……
Watch for those Opportunities to Grow
by Nanette Schimpf on April 17, 2009Several of my colleagues and I sat down to strategize the next several seminars in the professional development series we provide to our Moore Consulting Group team. As we analyzed where many of us had an interest to learn more, or where we don’t get the opportunity as often to grow, each of us realized how pivotal continued growth is. Really, in such a busy and constantly changing world, professional development is as important now as it’s ever been. Deciding what professional development opportunities there are was an interesting, and challenging process. It required us to think not to terms……

The lyrics may be truer than ever when you think about mixing new and traditional media; this thought struck me right in the eye last week while I was standing in line at a local Starbucks in Tallahassee.……
The Power of Words
by Terrie Ard on April 09, 2009At Moore Consulting Group, we greet each week with a Monday morning staff meeting. This is our opportunity to review schedules, recognize great success from the past week, discuss updates and, most importantly, all sit at the same table together. This meeting is like having dinner with my family—where communication is one of the keys to keeping everyone engaged and focused on what is most important. One of our traditions at MCG is to end each of these staff meetings with what we call an “energizer.” An energizer is an inspiring or thought-provoking quote that sets the tone for our……
