A Community that Gives Thanks, and Gives Back
by Shannon Colavecchio on November 23, 2010There are downsides to living in a small town like Tallahassee. At every other trip to the grocery store, you run into people you know – some of whom you’d rather not see. People think they know your business, or they make it their business to find out – even though it’s none of their business. Sometimes it just feels claustrophobic. But after attending two charity fundraisers this month, I am reminded that Tallahassee’s size is inversely proportional to its heart. This is one of the most giving communities I have ever known. It is something to be grateful for……
Black Friday
by Patrick Sheffield on November 22, 2010With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s always important to remember the things that you are thankful for. For me, that list includes family, friends, good health, and a great job. This year however, I have something new to add to my list: I’m off on Black Friday. Holiday Temptations

Diabetes is a group of diseases characterized by high blood glucose levels that result from defects in the body’s ability to produce and/or use insulin. The American Diabetes Association recognizes November as American Diabetes Month, a time to communicate the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of diabetes prevention and control. Diabetes is a growing epidemic in America and the statistics are sobering. Consider: Nearly 24 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes. Another 57……
Wiki Words
by Karen Moore on November 08, 2010Have you ever been confused about the new language used in social media? Well I have read Tweets that I had to seek an interpreter to understand. I am convinced that within a decade, we will be corresponding in a language that only uses phrases that will fit the parameters of Twitter! This is sad, because I love the King’s English. In fact, as many of you know, I read the King James version of the bible, because of the expressive and poetry of the text. Well, time moves on, so I have found a site that explains the new……
