The Biggest Advocate for Small Business

The first time I met Dr. Jerry Osteryoung was from the back row of a finance class at Florida State University. Even in the student/professor relationship many years ago, I recognized a unique passion that Dr. Osteryoung had for being a champion for small business. This small business giant is retiring, but most likely he will not be slowing down. If you are in business in Florida, it would be hard not to encounter Jerry. As the Executive Director of the Jim Moran Institute of Global Entrepreneurship, the Institute has assisted more than 4,000 small businesses across the state. Dr. Osteryoung……

10 in 2010

Near the door above the light switch in my office is a sign that simply reads, “Believe.”  This sign is a reminder each day as I leave my office to focus on the positive and have faith that what I set my mind to can be achieved.  At a time when job loss is at a record high, the economy is suffering and businesses are impacted daily, this sign has more meaning than ever for the work we do at Moore Consulting Group—whether it is an advocacy campaign to ensure Congress passes responsible health reform or helping a local small……

The TasteBudz Buzz

On a recent visit to local catering company TasteBudz, MCG’s first 10 in 2010 participant, I had the chance to catch up with Judy, TasteBudz owner and chef extraordinaire, on everything she and her team have been working on since their session back in January. What I did not know, however, was just how fast she hit the ground running! Over a big plate of Mexican lasagna, a peachy bean pot, quinoa……

During this session, we had the distinct pleasure of working with the leadership of The Magnolia School, a private, non-profit school celebrating 25 years of providing research-proven, themed-based education to create life-long learners. The Magnolia School is led by a group of dedicated staff and parent volunteers that are committed to providing this area with a unique alternative to the “typical” classroom setting. Their unswerving vision and our community’s eagerness for a fresh concept in……

I Pledge Allegiance…

I’m an Air Force brat and darn proud of it.  Maybe your mom or dad was also in the armed forces.  Or maybe a sibling, child, or friend served.  But I’m willing to wage my hard-earned paycheck that your life has been touched by a veteran.  Moore Consulting Group and our 10 in 2010 partners, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce and Tallahassee Democrat, were honored to host the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs (FDVA) as our May 10 in 2010 participant.  We offer 10 in 2010 as a pro bono outreach program to businesses, organizations and agencies in the……
