Florida's trauma centers faced a funding crisis that would potentially jeopardize their existence and the health of nearly 30,000 Floridians who survive life-threatening injuries each year because of treatment at these facilities.

Moore Communications Group conducted research, built the brand, and implemented a comprehensive public affairs campaign including media relations and grassroots advocacy on behalf of the Alliance to Save Florida’s Trauma Care.

Aggressive Media Relations across the state:

  • 616 stories
  • 26 positive editorials in major daily newspapers
  • 88 million impressions

Coalition building efforts for the five month campaign:

  • 25 grassroots health care advocacy organizations joined the Alliance
  • 200,000 visitors to the Alliance website
  • 20,000 letters to legislators

MCG and coalition efforts resulted in the Florida Legislature unanimously passing House Bill (HB) 497 and HB 1697, which secured more than $50 million a year in reoccurring funds for Florida's trauma centers.
